Whites stereotyped blacks based solemnly on their race, completely disregarding the fact that they have feelings as well. This novel illustrates what whites slackly do differently than blacks. The society in which Wright lived in oppressed education, religion, and career aspirations for black people. In the Jim swash South, whites had the opportunity to start out educated, tour those same exact opportunities were non available for the black population. Blacks were allowed to be educated, hardly would be unendingly harassed based by of their color. To avoid conflict, they predominately worked on farms or as manual laborers, but rarely went to school.
